The B. P. Koirala Lion’s Center for Ophthalmic Studies (BPKLCOS), Institute of Medicine, Maharajgunj Medical Campus, Tribhuvan University is the first pioneer government medical school in Nepal and is situated in the capital city of Kathmandu. Since its establishment in 1996, the main mission of BPKLCOS is Education, Service & Research. Our mission is to improve eye health of the people of Nepal by providing comprehensive eye care through training of a competent compassionate, caring and socially responsible ophthalmic workforce. This group is sensitive to the needs of both individuals and large populations living in urban and rural areas by collaborating with all stakeholders.  Numerous educational training programs at BPKLCOS work together with the common aim of minimizing blindness through education, service and research both at national and international levels.
