The Francis I Proctor Foundation at the University of California, San Francisco conducted a research study to determine if taking a medication called azithromycin can help treat COVID-19 disease. Azithromycin is a common antibiotic used to treat many common bacterial infections and may have antiviral and anti-inflammatory activities.
